In 1978, the family Chartrand operated in the industry of the school transportation and with the acquisition of « Autocar Deshaies Ltée. », in 1979 offered the possibility chartered transportation as well as line run between Montreal and Quebec City.
In May 1997, the division « Deshaies » changed name to « Autocar Preference ». Preference is now a stronger leader and totally ready to serve the industry.
